Job description
What you’ll do:
- Take responsibility for the curation and display of all digital content on our Home Pages across all Sky Sports Digital Media platforms ( www.skysports.com, Sky Sports Mobile applications, Sky Q).
- Under the direction of the Football Editor, Sports Editor and Output Editors, sub-edit copy, write headlines and other page furniture to the highest possible standards and in keeping with the tone, Sky Sports house style and editorial direction of our digital platforms.
- Work closely with digital video and social teams to place high-performing video in most popular stories and in prominent video positions and indexes to support commercial targets
- Work closely with the Picture Editor to ensure a consistent, engaging and attractive look and feel, ensuring our output is presented to the highest possible standards.
- Ensure that our digital estate assists company-wide marketing strategies and is aligned to Sky across all territories.
- Mentor and coach sub-editors and junior sub-editors and support daily management of freelance sub-editors
What you’ll bring:
- First-class sub-editing skills with a flawless understanding of spelling, grammar and journalistic principles
- Highly motivated and creative
- A team player, believing in collaboration, adaptability and initiative.
- Able to readily embrace new technology and change
- Demonstrated experience of working in a quick-paced environment with tight deadlines
- A calm, detailed and methodical approach
- Ability to prioritise workload
- Knowledge of SLA and KPI requirements
