SCOPE OF POSITION:
Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, the Foreperson is responsible for overseeing daily operations at the wood manufacturing plant. He/she will also direct, supervise and troubleshoot routine issues that occur at the plant. Ensure that Health and Safety policies and company policies are respected and followed.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
· Monitor employees’ performance
· Support, coach and offer training to all employees so they are successful in their positions
· Emphasize safe use of tools, machinery, and equipment
· Coordinate all requirements to meet production and distribution schedules
· Ensure terms and conditions of the collective agreement are consistently applied
· Resolving conflicts or miscommunications quickly and amicably
· Communicate openly with management and other forepersons
· Ensure compliance with Company Health & Safety policies and procedures
· Maintain records of daily production
· Monitor and report MHE issues such as accidents, safety concerns or licensing issues
· Interact and support internal clients, Customer Service, and others
· Effectively collaborates with the Customer Service team to meet or exceed customer’s
expectations
· Liaise with external clients, vendors, carriers, and drivers
· Attend and participate in meetings as required
· Perform other duties as assigned
EDUCATION
· Minimum successful completion of grade twelve
· College/University Diploma in Business, Customer Service, or any related field or equivalent experience
· Essential knowledge of manufacturing and distribution industry
· Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX an asset
· Industry knowledge (Millwork/Building Material, Moulding, construction) an asset
SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS
· Strong organizational, multi-tasking, time, and employee’s management skills
· Positive attitude and self-motivated and works well under pressure
· The ability to maintain a high level of accuracy with a high volume of output
· Good communication and interpersonal skills
· Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem solving, decision making and negotiation skills
· Skills using Microsoft Office
· Proactive, results oriented and effective team building capacity
· Must be able to work all shift rotations
- Knowledge of Health and Safety rules

Salary: $52,000.00-$57,000.00 per year
