Job Summary:
The Security Guard/Doorman is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for the building, its occupants, and their property. This position requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to remain calm and professional in high-stress situations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premises
- Patrol premises regularly to maintain order and establish presence
- Monitor and respond to alarms and other emergency situations
- Investigate and report any suspicious activities or incidents
- Write reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences
- Answer telephone calls to take messages, answer questions, and provide information during non-business hours or when switchboard is closed
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Prior experience in security preferred
- Must be able to speak a degree of English
- Must be able to remain calm and professional in high-stress situations
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends
- Must be physically able to stand, walk, and climb stairs for extended periods of time
Work Environment:
The Security Guard/Doorman will work primarily indoors, but may be required to work outdoors in all weather conditions. This position requires standing, walking, and climbing stairs for extended periods of time. The Security Guard/Doorman may be required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
