THAMESIDE Wincanton has an exciting opportunity for experienced HGV Class 2 drivers to join on a permanent basis for its client Primark, Thameside. Driving a Class 2 Rigid vehicle in a safe manner, delivering caged or palletised goods to RDCs or stores, ensuring that the loads are secured correctly and that the goods are delivered on time, offloaded in the correct manner, paperwork signed, and any agreed waste or cages are collected to be returned. This role will report to the Transport Shift Manager.
Start times vary, days & afternoons - Any 5 out of 7 Days
Salary and Benefits:
Start Band
- 00:00 - 04:59 - £16.88 (£39,499.20 per annum based on 45 hours per week contract)
- 05:00 - 09:00 - £16.40 (£38,736 per annum based on 45 hours per week contract)
- 09:01 - 17:59 - £15.63 (£36,574.20 per annum based on 45 hours per week contract)
- 18:00 - 23:59 - £17.14 (£40,107.60 per annum based on 45 hours per week contract)
- Overtime paid an additional £0.50 after 45 hours worked each week

How will you contribute?
- Responsible for the accurate, timely movement and delivery of our customers’ products.
- Single drop
- Adhering to safe working practices to always ensure the safety of yourself and others.
- Securing load of the trailer to ensure products are safely secured to minimise chances of damage.
- Always provide excellent customer service and to take ownership of customer issues on delivery.
- Carry out multi-drop deliveries within the delivery window in a safe manner.
- Be aware of the vehicle defects and bring to the attention of Transport Office as necessary.
- Attend essential training in order to carry out the Driver role.
What will you bring?
- Must have valid in date Class 2 licence
- Must have valid in date CPC
- Must hold Digital tachograph card
- Must not have more than 6 points on licence
- 6 months driving class 2 experience desirable, however new drivers will be considered
- Possess excellent customer facing awareness skills
- Good timekeeper and able to work unsupervised
- Enthusiastic and reliable with a commitment to delivering 1st class customer service
- Must have good communication skills and a flexible can-do attitude to work
- Must have a good geographical knowledge
