Lunar Freezing and Cold Storage Company Ltd. is a well-establish family-owned business. Based in the fishing ports of Peterhead, Fraserburgh and Aberdeen, Lunar are a vertically integrated company incorporating the catching, processing and delivery of high-quality seafood to our customers worldwide.
A great opportunity has arisen for an experienced HGV Class 1 Driver to work within our transport department based at Dales Industrial Estate, Peterhead. The role is primarily for continental European work delivering to France, Germany and the Netherlands, but it will involve both continental European and UK work.
Please note that the postholder will be required to load and unload their vehicles, as well as be able to work within a seafood environment and its associated working conditions.
The successful applicant will be required to start and finish their deliveries in Peterhead, Aberdeenshire, after delivery of good to their destination(s).
Main tasks:
· Loading, transporting and unloading goods in a safe manner whilst meeting delivery schedules (locations throughout the UK and Europe).
· Effectively manage own working time in line with the current driving legislation.
· Ensure the vehicle is routinely checked to highlight any faults or observations that may lead to issues. This includes a daily prestart check.
· Responsible for unit and trailer, including temperature checks and ensuring that both are kept clean and in good order and that the goods are transported correctly.
· Ensure proof of deliveries are signed and returned to the Transport Office after delivery.
Skills required:
· Excellent attention to detail.
· Effective communication skills.
· Ability to work within a team and with minimum supervision.
Experience:
· A minimum of 5 years driving experience (required)
· Class 1 driving licence (required)
· Valid CPC (required)
· In date digital tachograph card (preferred)
It is a full-time, permanent position with excellent pay and overtime opportunities.
