Job description
Class 2 HGV Multi-Drop Driver
£33,865
Mon-Fri (1 in 3 Saturdays) starting between 04:00 - 06:30.
Newhouse
Join the global foodservice leaders and deliver fresh food to some of the best-known hotels, restaurants and pubs on the high street. As a Class 2 HGV Multi-Drop Driver, this is your chance to join a growing organisation that rewards and invests in its people. From great benefits and flexible hours, to driving deliveries that are packed and ready to go, our drivers have it all – including the job security of a business that’s been established more than 50 years.
We’re big on support and making life as easy as possible for our Class 2 HGV Drivers here at Brakes. As a 24/7 delivery operation based in Newhouse, that includes:
- Warehouse teams who’ll have your delivery ready and handle loading for you.
- Flexibly working around you where possible – and as chefs often prefer us to deliver early in the day, there’s plenty of opportunity to be out and about when the roads are much quieter.
- Variety that includes 12-18 drops per shift, and smaller items as well as pallets.
What’s really special about a driving career with us though, is the time and money we spend on helping you to develop and grow. If you’re a newly qualified Class 2 driver, you’ll gain valuable experience in a driving role. In fact, we've just scooped the Training Award at the Motor Transport Awards 2022. If you’re an experienced driver, our coaching and training opportunities could support you to develop into fleet management, planning and many more senior level roles. We also offer some pretty impressive benefits too:
Our HGV drivers work a 45 hour week, with the shift patterns being Monday to Friday and 1 in every 3 Saturdays. To join us here in Newhouse as an HGV driver, you’ll need a Class 2 Driving Licence with no more than six points on it, valid CPC card, and digital tachograph.
In return, we offer highly competitive and realistic on-target earnings of £33,865. You’ll also enjoy benefits that include an optional pension scheme, wide-ranging discounts from our customers, free fruit, subsidised vending machines and importantly, a focus on employee wellbeing. At Brakes everyone is welcome. We don’t want you to ‘fit our culture’ we want you to help define it and we actively celebrate the unique talents of each and every colleague. We don’t just look at your CV, we’re more focused on who you are and your potential. As part of our values, we are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive culture where everyone has a voice, is appreciated and has the same opportunities. We work hard to ensure that everyone feels part of our business, as we care for one another and connect the world through food and trusted partnerships. Our ultimate goal is to ensure that everyone belongs and thrives at Brakes and we recognise that Brakes can only thrive when everyone feels they belong.
