Job description

Fixed Term to March 2025

Funded from UK Shared Prosperity Fund, Sunderland City Council is seeking a Partnership Officer to support the Heritage Sunderland Partnership (HSP) including leading the development and delivery of a digital heritage content project.

Established in 2020, the HSP exists to champion best practice and connect practitioners in heritage across Sunderland. Its aim is to support all heritage from the natural to the built environment, ranging from volunteer led organisations to independent local museums, libraries, heritage sites, trusts, or groups. Membership is citywide and diverse with a range of local venues, organisations and societies

The Heritage Sunderland Partnership Officer will work alongside members of the partnership to audit, develop and embed a broad range of heritage online content. The partnership officer will meet with organisations auditing archives and collections, reviewing storage arrangements and making recommendations. Once content has been identified work will begin on creating digital content. Examples may include venue behind the scenes tours, films and drone footage to showcase each organisation’s heritage assets, digital heritage maps and trails, and museum collections.

You will facilitate the partnership, arrange meetings, review governance arrangements, submit bid applications, organise events and implement a delivery plan.

This full time role is funded to March 2025. The post will report to the Service Manager - Heritage, Museums and Arts and work from Sunderland Museum and Winter Gardens in addition to other heritage and cultural venues as required. The successful applicant will also support the Chair of the Heritage Sunderland Partnership as required.
