We are a large, progressive Medical Centre passionate about providing great quality care to our 29,000+ patients and we have an exciting opportunity for Healthcare Assistants to join our team.
Shifts are available throughout the week Monday to Friday. Evenings until 20:00 and Saturdays 08:30 - 17:00 are also available.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for Healthcare Assistants who are committed to supporting us in providing the best patient care by assisting the clinical team in the delivery of prescribed patient care programmes. This is a varied role working within our supportive and friendly nursing team.
The successful candidate will ideally be an experienced phlebotomist and have a good range of some of the other HCA skills. However, training to further enhance skills would be provided. Excellent interpersonal skills, strong I.T. skills, comfortable in working in a busy environment, flexibility and good attention to detail are also essential.
This position would suit someone who likes working as part of team, is kind and empathetic, enjoys face-to-face interaction with patients and has a methodical approach to their work.

Job description
Duties will include:-
- Phlebotomy
- Warfarin monitoring using INRstar software
- Patient health checks
- ECG recording
- Recording patient observations including blood pressure, pulse, respiration rate and pulse oximetry
- Chaperoning duties
- Undertaking specific clinical activities for named patients that have been delegated and taught specifically in relation to that individual
- Helping to raise awareness of health and well-being and how it can be promoted
- Assisting with the collection and collation of data on needs related to health and well-being
- Processing and management of laboratory samples requested by GPs/Nurses
- Sterilising, cleansing and maintenance of surgical equipment
- Vaccine/cold chain storage, monitoring and recording
- Surgical equipment and vaccine re-stocking and stock rotation
- Clearing and re-stocking consulting rooms
- Preparing and maintaining environments and equipment before, during and after patient care interventions including assisting GPs during the performance of minor operations and coil/ implant fitting clinics
- Assisting in the assessment and surveillance of patients health and well-being
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 20 - 37 per week
