Title: Healthcare Assistant Hospice
Salary: Marie Curie Clinical Pay Scale, aligned with AFC BAND 2 £21,318 per annum, pro rata, plus enhancements.
Hours/Contract: Full Time, Permanent, Days and Nights
Based: West Midlands Hospice, Marsh Lane

41% x your basic salary per hour paid for Saturdays & weekday night duty (8pm to 6am)
83% x your basic salary per hour paid for Sundays and Public Bank Holidays
What we are looking for:
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work within a team.
- Flexible approach to working patterns
- Recent experience in a health/social care setting
- An empathy and understanding of issues encountered by patients with palliative care needs

To join our dedicated, caring team, you'll need an S/NVQ Level 2/3 qualification or an equivalent certificate/diploma, or be willing to work towards it, and relevant experience – ideally within a care setting. Emotional strength and the ability to work on your own are crucial, though we will of course provide excellent on-going training and support. We expect you to have a talent for forging strong empathetic relationships with all kinds of people, whilst providing palliative care. Due to the nature of the role a flexible approach including the ability to work nights is essential.
