If so, our Theatres department may be the place for you.
You will be assisting our dedicated and supportive team to ensure that our Theaters are running at their optimum levels and that our patients are exactly where they need to be, whilst maintaining a highly sterile environment.

Collect patients from wards and escort to theatre
Assist the trained practitioner in carrying out any necessary procedures or act as a chaperone when required
Assist with emergency treatment in the event of cardiac arrest
Assist the Anaesthetist with simple tasks whilst preparing patient for anaesthesia (e.g. applying blood pressure cuff and pulse oximeter)
Moving patients between theatre table and beds and trolley’s using pat slides, sliding sheets, samarite roll board and easy slide
Help maintain a sterile field whilst setting up the procedure trolleys and opening up packaging and equipment
Receive and label specimens during procedures
Participate with the cleaning of theatre and equipment between patient visits and at the end of lists
Ensure that patient records are completed accurately and legibly
Escorting patients who have undergone local anaesthetic back to the ward
Collect blood from the blood bank as requested
Assist with the checking of all medical equipment
Check sterile instrument set contents lists, with the theatre practitioner
Ensure confidentiality is maintained at all times in line with the Data Protection Act and Trust policy
