SUPERSTARS HOLIDAY CLUB have a unique Summer position, ideal for Teaching Assistants and Arts & Crafts Teachers looking to make the most out of their Summer, delivering our new Wildlife Workshop on our popular Holiday Camps.
We are looking for candidates with a practical arts/woodworking background, who have prior experience working with young people, and are happy to take the initiative and work unsupervised when necessary as you will be working in groups of up to 12 children.
The 5 day week (Mon-Fri), will be with the same group of children, challenging them to design, make and decorate various Wildlife related projects each day. These projects include, Bird Boxes, Insect Hotels, Bird Feeders along with some leather making and more.
You will be working a within a small team of coaches, so communication, energy and enthusiasm is key. If you believe you have what it takes to inspire young children.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Enforce Health & Safety Policy at all sessions.
- Working effectively in a team
- Carrying out basic administrative tasks
- Dealing with parents before and after sessions
- Dealing and managing First Aid
- Working using and existing session plan template
- Being organised and planning ahead
- Being proactive and creative with sessions
Experience
- Experience of working with children and young people
- Demonstrable experience of using own initiative
- Demonstrable experience of working proactively and unsupervised
- Enhanced DBS clearance (Can be provided by Superstars)
- Arts and or Woodworking Teaching Experience
Skills and Abilities
- Able to communicate effectively with young people and those who influence them (parents, teachers etc)
- Passionate, enthusiastic and believe in making a difference
- Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external partners
- Ability to work towards and hit targets
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
Shifts are 07:45-16:45 with late shifts that run to 18:00 and are paid at an extra rate
Dates - Summer Camp starts 24th July through to 24th August with the expectation of the successful candidate to be able to work over a block of 4 weeks roaming their assigned area.
If interested additional work may also be available as a sports or dance coach on our camps - to be discussed at interview stage.
Full training will be provided
Must be able to drive as each week will be at a different camp across Warrington.
No Bank Holiday or Weekend Work
Pay rates are based on age and relevant experience/qualifications
