An exciting opportunity has arisen for permanent Healthcare Assistants to join our busy and expanding unit.
We operate a 6 day week service 8am to 7pm and evening clinics.
The successful candidate will be expected to work in all areas of the department including the ward area, clinical areas and the decontamination department.
Whilst experience in working in the Endoscopy Unit would be desirable it is not essential as full training in all aspects of the job will be given.
Hours per week: 37.5
- To provide competent clinical support to medical and nursing staff on the endoscopy department.
- To support emotionally and physically all patients undergoing procedures involving sedation and/or local anaesthesia.
- To ensure their patients’ privacy and dignity are maintained at all times.
- To ensure the cleanliness of all endoscopy areas and equipment at all times and to participate in all cleaning programmes, including before and following routine and emergency endoscopy procedures.
- To participate in the safe moving and handling of patients and equipment in accordance with Health and Safety regulation , and Trust & Departmental policy and procedure.
- Communicate effectively and appropriately with all members of the multi-disciplinary team as appropriate.
- At all times appropriately use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) available for personal use.
- Be aware of the procedure to be followed in the event of Fire, Cardiac Arrest or any other emergency including Major Incident Policy.
- To perform other duties as reasonably required to assist in the smooth running of the Endoscopy Unit.
- To dispose of clinical waste into the correct receptacles.
- To be responsible for the self-development through participation in training and development activities.
- To develop and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues.
- To develop and maintain stock levels for endoscopy. Working alongside housekeeper
