What You Will Do
As our Human Resources Business Partner, you will be responsible for supporting HR functions in the US head office and US customer fulfillment centers (CFCs) across the east coast and midwest regions. Responsibilities for this role may include:
- Combine commercial focus with HR expertise to improve organizational effectiveness by aligning HR policies and procedures to support business strategy.
- Work with People Partners and functional specialists (Learning & Development, Engagement, Reward, etc) to ensure consistent implementation of HR policies, procedures and projects across business streams.
- Work closely with key customers in a partnership capacity: train, coach and assist line managers to understand and effectively implement HR policies, procedures and best practices.
- Collaborate with the HR Shared Services team to ensure the effective delivery of transactional HR activities for the client base.
- Provide pragmatic and professional expertise and advice on specific topics, e.g. work-life balance policies, diversity awareness, etc., and promote equality and diversity as an integral part of the culture of the organization in line with Ocado’s core values.
- Manage and facilitate transformation in terms of working practices and management style across business areas.
- Attend and contribute to team meetings both with key customers and within HR; lead and participate in project and working groups on initiatives across both HR and assigned client groups.
- Utilize employee data and trend analysis to lead, educate and work in partnership with hiring managers on people issues, e.g., absence management, reducing turnover; identify priority trends and advise management on options and solutions.
- Provide HR support to management in high-level disciplinary, grievance and appeal meetings; provide performance management expertise and assistance to ensure a high-quality workforce that enhances brand reputation.
- Develop practical people strategies with hiring managers, which address immediate and long-term key business objectives, e.g., retention, performance, attendance, etc.
- Interpret and advise on relevant current employment legislation.
- Use initiative to research, network externally, and present new ideas for continuous improvement.
- Support recruitment initiatives within your area by attending assessment sessions and participating in interviews.
- Develop people strategies with senior management to address both immediate and long-term objectives for the business area.
- Monitor new starter orientation and onboarding.
- Train and develop managers on people management processes.
- Work with the occupational health and safety team to best support our people..
- Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations.
- Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with the legal department as needed/required.
- Assists international employees with expatriate assignments and related HR matters.
- Provides guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning and succession planning.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
This position will report directly to the Vice President of Human Resources, North America.
Who You Are
To qualify for this position, you should meet the following requirements:
- A bachelor's degree in human resources, organization development, business, or related area of study; an additional four years’ experience may be substituted for a degree.
- A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in human resources preferred.
- A minimum of two (2) years experience in an HR leadership position preferred.
- International experience supporting an engineering and/or technology company preferred.
- Experience working in a rapid, high-growth environment is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of employment law and employee relations.
- Strong experience consulting hiring managers on HR-related areas, to include disciplinary action, performance management, talent development, and employee relations.
- Strong leadership, relationship management and people management skills.
- Experience in talent management, succession planning, performance management, and learning and development.
- Strong influencing and negotiation skills; able to listen and persuade others based on sound logic.
- Confident decision-maker who is able to work independently.
- Proven ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Able to give and receive constructive feedback.
- Ability to communicate effectively at all employee levels (including upwards).
- Comfortable with data, showing analytical capability to make informed decisions and anticipate business priorities.
- Ability to successfully work remotely.
- Ability to travel up to 30% of the time.
Location:
This position is a remote opportunity and requires 30% travel to assigned FC sites. Our preference is that this person reside in Dallas, Texas.
