Job description
De Cham is a 28 bedded mixed medical ward; 8 of these beds will be gastroenterology, the remaining beds can be any general medicine and of variable age.
Our aim is to maximise and deliver of excellent patient care by using all the resources available. To reduce length of hospital stay and maintain patient flow. This is achieved by having a daily multi-disciplinary meeting, to discuss every patient. The Hospital Intervention Team, Social Services, medical teams and the nursing staff, meet to establish the needs of the patient, the management plan and how a safe discharge can be achieved in the timeliest manner.
We are looking for experienced Health Care Assistants, hospital experience is desirable but not essential. A minimum of NVQ2 two in health and social care or the equivalent.
The Health Care Assistant (Band 2) is a member of the care team who will support Registered Practitioner in the delivery of routine patient care. The Health Care Assistant will undertake a broad range of care activities under the direct supervision of a Registered Practitioner.
We will provide a supportive atmosphere, mentorship and clinical supervision on the ward and are committed to professional development of all staff. Team working is an integral part of both wards with all staff enabled and empowered to make a real difference for their patients.
