An exciting opportunity has become available for Band 2 Healthcare Assistants at our Palliative Care Unit at Priscilla Bacon Lodge. This post involves providing palliative care for adults with a life limiting illness and supporting their families. To participate as a member of the team supporting patients at the end of their lives. You will be joining an enthusiastic, supportive, and friendly team. You will receive support and development through in-service training, regular appraisals, a personal development plan and clinical supervision. You will participate in a 7 day operational service, which will include nights, weekends and bank holidays. We are an inclusive collaborative team, working closely to provide outstanding care to palliative and end of life adults. Implement care for patients as defined by the individualised care plan. Provide a high standard of direct care for patients in line with the ward philosophy. To communicate verbally and in writing, care given and observations of patients conditions under the direction of a Registered Nurse. To assist and encourage patients with their nutritional needs, physical comfort, personal hygiene and appearance. The post holder will support care for patients with life threating illness with complex needs, also for their families and carers.
