Health Care Assistant – Ellern Mede
Location: Moorgate, Rotherham
Salary: £24,000.00
Who are we?
Ellern Mede is an internationally renowned specialist service for people with eating disorders and our expert clinicians offer both, inpatient and outpatient treatments, tailor-made to each individual. We offer short term recovery-focused treatment, as well as high dependency intensive treatment for complex, challenging cases. Within the Ellern Mede Group, we currently have 4 active sites which includes Moorgate (Rotherham), Derby, Barnet and Ridgeway (outer London).

Job Role:
As a healthcare assistant you will be working directly with our patients, being apart of their support network and patient care treatment. You will be expected to understand our patients needs as stated in their care plan and prioritise their well being at all times.
As a healthcare assistant you can expected to;
- Implement care plan requirements
- Assisting in feeds,
- Partaking in various activities with our patients,
- Attend to personal care needs,
- Be involved in supervisions,
- Always be vigilant and aware of the patients safety at all times,
- Report any incidents and be aware of safeguarding,
- Make our patients feel safe and respected,
- And most importantly being someone they can trust.
Our Moorgate site, offers 12 inpatient beds across two units, Aztec and Inca, Aztec being for 18 to 25 year olds and Inca being for people under 18, as a healthcare assistant you will be expected to work on both wards.
We can accommodate various shift patterns to suit your schedule ranging from part time hours to full time hours.
On all shifts, you will be expected to work 2 weekend per months and be flexible to working day and night shifts
Working with children and young people with eating disorders can be exceptionally challenging. You will need to be emotionally resilient at times, however you will be working as part of team who will support you as well.
A full enhanced DBS is required for this role. If you do not currently have one, we are able to complete the application on your behalf*
What are we looking for?
- Recently graduated with a degree in Psychology/Sociology/ Health care or of a similar discipline.
- Individuals that are highly experienced in working in a health care setting.
- Experience working with young children or within a CAMHS setting
- Have knowledge or an understanding of eating disorders and patient treatment
