About the Role

Stowhealth has a vacancy for a medical secretary to join our team, on a part-time basis, working between 21 to 26 hours per week. The hours are negotiable.
Main duties of the job:
  • Ensuring the accurate and timely typing of clinical referrals and letters for GPs and clinical staff, as requested, using digital dictation and DXS. Logging appropriate details on the clinical computer system and through e-Referrals (formerly Choose and Book);
  • Actioning referrals on SystmOne via tasks, ensuring forms have been completed correctly and sending them either by email or via e-Referrals;
  • Actioning tasks from all clinical staff, including: chasing results, clinic letters, discharge summaries, etc.;
  • Dealing with phone calls from the secretaries' telephone call list;
  • AskmyGP: patient enquiries, chasing referrals, giving test results, emailing information, etc.
  • Ensuring the accurate and timely typing of non-clinical documents for GPs, other clinicians, the practice manager and practice staff.

About the Candidate

The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about offering great customer service and enjoy working as part of a team. Reception experience is desirable but not essential, as full training will be given.
All candidates should have:
  • GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths
  • Competency in the following:
    • Microsoft Word and Excel
    • Use of e-mail (Microsoft Outlook preferred)
    • TPP SystmOne
    • DXS
    • Audio-typing using Crescendo
    • Xero
  • The following personal skills, which are required for the post:
