Health & Safety Officer - South
Locations: Staines TW18 3DZ, Brighton BN1 1AH, Bristol BS16 1GW
This role is supporting the Care Services network in the South of England so travel is required, and you will have a role specific car as part of the package.
Permanent, full-time position: 37.5hours
Salary range: £34,000 - £38,800

Role Overview

To support the H&S Team by providing technical and geographical Health and Safety support across our network of Care homes and retirement villages. Working as part of the Health and Safety team and reporting through to the Health and Safety Manager, you will help implement, monitor, and maintain an effective safety management system to deliver business unit ambitions and performance for employee health and safety. This is a key role within the organisation to ensure we meet specific regulatory requirements.

What you’ll do:

• To support & advise managers to be able to fulfil their OSH responsibilities
• To investigate all legally reportable injuries to ensure accurate reporting
• To assist operational teams in the implementation of control measures on the back of Risk Assessments
• To work closely with Learning & Development to supply and deliver training in H&S Risk Assessment
• To monitor compliance against H&S policy and independently audit Bupa locations
• To contribute towards the positive direction of H&S in various campaigns, policy reviews and procedure development
• To prepare written reports upon request on investigation, audits, or topics relevant to H&S purpose
• To help and support the Health and Safety Manager with the implementation of their H&S plans and contribute towards the wider H&S agenda.

What you’ll bring:

• NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent) level.
• Experience of Medium to large multisite management
• Good written and communication skills, sound judgement regarding risk control measures with the ability to take decisions, influence and negotiate at all levels
• Have knowledge of current health and safety legislation and guidance and be able to demonstrate continuous professional development.
• Competent in the use of general IT software – word, excel, PowerPoint & e-mail
