About the role
This role is home based, covering predominantly the London, Kent and East Anglia regions (although occasional travel nationally may be required).
Key responsibilities include:
- Undertake site inspections and audits using standard templates.

Prepare and maintain, as instructed by the Health & Safety Consultancy Manager:
- Audit and inspection templates.
- Policy templates.
- Guidance notes.
- Risk assessment templates.
- Example risk assessments.
- Other compliance portal content.
- Prepare detailed technical reports to be presented to clients in a professional manner, which are proportionate to the client’s needs.
- Prepare written systems and policies for larger and specialist clients, in compliance with the requirements of HASWA, supporting regulations and codes of practice.
- Provide assistance to clients with undertaking risk assessments.
- Develop and deliver health and safety training courses.
- Assist clients with accident investigations and make recommendations to prevent recurrence.
- Liaise with enforcing authorities as appropriate.
- Train and mentor colleagues as required, to help develop a multi-disciplined team of health & safety professionals.
- Cover the Health & Safety Advice Line as required.
Skills and experience
- Health & Safety professional holding CMIOSH and listed on the OSCHR register for Health & Safety Consultants.
- Demonstrable experience working as a Health & Safety professional, including the development and delivery of training to advisors and clients.
- Food Hygiene and Fire Safety qualifications desirable.
- Ability to develop and coach others.
- Strong commercial awareness, able to determine business priorities.
- Can make decisions independently using sound judgement.
- High level of organisational skills.
- Strong commitment to delivering exception customer service.
- Excellent communication skills at all levels.
- Excellent standard of written and spoken English.
- Flexibility in use of time; embraces change and a willingness to adapt to new ways of working.
