We are looking for a Support Worker to join our Supported Living Services based across Richmond and Catterick on a permanent, part time basis (25 hours a week). Driver preferable, Shifts will be spread across mornings, afternoons, evenings and sleep ins, weekends and bank holidays. You will receive an enhanced flat rate payment of £61.20 for any sleep-in shifts carried out. The payment for sleep ins is non-contractual.

We have one permanent position for part time hours (25 hours per week) and one temporary support worker post (22.5 hours per week) to cover maternity leave for 6 months, possibly longer.

We support adults who have a learning disability and live in our 3 supported living services across Catterick and Richmond. We are looking to grow our lively, inclusive, knowledgeable and exceptionally friendly staff team! A driver would be preferable however we are happy to look at all applications.

We support both females and males, who all live independent, fun and active lifestyles. Our services are busy environments, from going to day centres, supporting with leisure activities including cinema, seeing friends, gardening, socialising, and they need your support with this.

Supporting someone with their daily life is not a 9-5 job. You will need to be able to work across a range of different days and shift patterns, including some sleep in shifts (Payment for sleep ins is competitive and compliant with National Living Wage requirements). We realise that your quality time is important too, so your rota is prepared well in advance.

What does a Support Worker do?



As a Support Worker you will be expected to provide an outstanding level of support that will help to ensure the people we support live a more comfortable, dignified, liberated and happy life. You will have excellent communication skills and be a naturally caring and patient personality. Typical responsibilities may include:

  • Supporting people to live independently – budget management, paying bills, housework, organising appointments and cooking delicious healthy meals.
  • Excellent communication skills and Relationship building – supporting the people we support to understand the world around them and promoting positive relationships.
  • Community & Social Inclusion - supporting individuals to access and participate in their local community and social events to promote life skills and individuality.
  • Personal care - helping people to get ready for the day. This may include prompting the people we support to take their medication and assisting with bathing, showering and using the bathroom. Not all Support Worker roles include high levels of personal care.
