Job description
To file, retrieve, locate and maintain medical case note folders, ensuring their movement is tracked on the hospital’s computerised case note tracking system.
To prepare and despatch medical records for outpatient clinics, other departments, other hospitals, and the Scanning Bureau.
To respond to requests for information from staff, patients and other authorised bodies
The opportunity has arisen for a person to become part of the Health Records evening team. This will be a part time post of an average of 14 hours per week working Sunday to Saturday on a rotational basis based in the Health Records Building.
The post holder will be working with a highly motivated team who are in regular contact with all departments within the hospital and also with external organisations including other Health Records departments and occasionally members of the public.
The role is quite a physically demanding job with a requirement for regular manual handling of notes and pushing trolleys internally and externally around the hospital site. You will need to be able to work to tight timescales and use your initiative to ensure your work is completed in an efficient and accurate way.
Previous experience of using our PAS system would be a real advantage but full training will be given.
Hours: Average of 14 hours per week over 7 days
Three week rota:
Week 1: Monday, Thursday & Saturday (6 hours per shift)
Week 2: Tuesday, Friday & Sunday (6 hours per shift)
Week 3: Wednesday only (6 hours)
