From day one you will be working towards completing a Health Physics Monitor NVQ and we will be there to support you every step of the way. You will develop you own portfolio of experiences, demonstrating what you have learnt along the way.
As a Health Physics Monitor you will provide radiological monitoring services within the nuclear industry to protect people, plant and environment as well as providing professional advice to our customers.
The role will operate at one of our many customer sites, with key accountability for:
- Carrying out routine contamination / radiation surveys and reporting results
- Clearance for transfer of radiological and non-radiological items
- Monitoring and assessment of airborne contamination levels
- Calculation and control of dose uptake in the working environment
- Control and use of radiation protection instrumentation
- Monitoring compliance with regulations ensuring that safe working conditions are maintained

Candidates will be required to achieve appropriate security (DBS) and medical clearances following the required regulations; these clearances will be instigated on receiving a conditional offer of employment. Candidates must be at least 18 years old to meet the requirements of a Classified Worker.
