Job Title: Health Care Support – FULL TIME/ PART TIME- Covering Clinics in East and West Sussex
About the Organisation:
TBC Healthcare is a specialist weight management practice developed in the private sector but recognised by the ICB (Integrated Care Board) as a preferred provider of Tier 3 multidisciplinary services. TBC delivers community-based Tier 3 multi-disciplinary weight management services. The practice sets out to pioneer the non-surgical treatment of patients presenting with severe and complex morbid obesity.
The main purpose of the Health Care Support (HCS)
1. To support the Dietetic team in delivering the nutritional component of the programme. A key element of this are the dietetic check in clinics that run regularly across the locality. These specialist clinics provide an opportunity for patients to be weighed and discuss any issues that may arise. It is anticipated that the HCS will play a key role in the delivery of these clinics.
2. To support the Dietetic and admin team as directed including following up patients, booking appointments, data collection, undertaking research where required and helping to coordinate clinics.
Required Education, Skills & Qualifications
- A background in healthcare with experience of working directly with patients. Educated to BTEC/NVQ level.
- Excellent communication skills. Good verbal communicator, able to liaise with service users from diverse backgrounds in a professional and sympathetic, caring manner.
- To be sensitive to the issues of this patient group.
- Clinical Skills - sharp observation skills and able to lookout for signs of change in wellbeing.
- Able to work under the direction of a Senior Professional.
- Able to perform basic medical checks.
- You will have the key skills and competencies that will enable you to work safely, person centred and as part of a team to deliver high-quality, ethical and non-discriminatory care to patients.
- Personality and a non-judgemental approach is of high importance. Suitable candidates for the role must be friendly, caring and sensitive individuals who are able to offer a high standard of clinical care.
The HCS will be attending different clinic locations across East and West Sussex, on some days as well as telephone clinics from home when a clinic isn’t in place. Must be a car owner with a valid driving licence. (Petrol allowance given)
