We are looking for enthusiastic, highly motivated Health Care Assistants to work within our department which has recently been rated outstanding for ‘well lead’ by the CQC. If you’re passionate about delivering high quality safe healthcare, then we would love to hear from you.
You will enjoy a challenging, fast pace and exciting working environment caring for all emergency attendance in four areas of the department including working in our recently renovated Resus department that now offers 12 bed spaces and our Children and Young Peoples Area.
The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills and will have or be willing to work towards an NVQ 2 in care. Previous experience in an acute care setting would be an advantage.
Supports registered nurses in the delivery of safe and efficient patient care.
Participates in the delivery of individualised care, always maintaining a professional and compassionate attitude.
Works cooperatively as part of a multi-disciplinary team to deliver safe and efficient patient care.
Observing, monitoring, and recording physiological observations and escalating abnormal observations to a registered nurse.
Communicate effectively with patients, relatives, and colleagues.
Provide personal care where appropriate whilst adhering to infection control procedures and maintaining the privacy and dignity of the patient.
Assisting with clinical duties once competent such as undertaking ECG’s or Urinalysis.
Transferring patients from the Emergency Department to specialty areas or assisting with discharging home.
Escalate any safeguarding concerns
Achieve and maintain competence in mandatory and statutory training associated with the role.
Complete documentation of care in line with Trust standards for documentation.
Apply the principles of Information Governance and Confidentiality to all aspects of your role.
Provide 1:1 observation to maintain the safety of patients as requested.
Assist with cleaning and stocking within all areas of the Emergency Department.
