Job description

This new Service has been developed in response to the increasing number of drug related deaths in Renfrewshire and will be key in engaging with individuals who are not in contact with treatment and care services.
The Mobile Unit will deliver harm reduction services across Renfrewshire expanding on the present office based provision delivered by ADRS. The service will be flexible and respond to local need, working in collaboration with wider ADP partners. It is anticipated that this service will require evening and weekend provision as the service is developed and responds to local need.
The core service team being recruited will consist of the following fulltime (37.5hrs) nursing positions 1 band 6 RGN and/or RMN, 1 band 5 RGN and/or RMN and 1 band 3 health care assistant. These positions are available on a fixed term basis for 15 months.
Ideally the Health care assistant should have experience of working with individuals experiencing alcohol and/or drug issues but full training will be given. Candidates with lived experience will also be considered for this post. A full driving license is a desired requirement as driving the unit (van) is central to the service function. (Driver training will be given as part of the successful candidate’s induction).
The successful candidates will need to be flexible and responsive to the needs of this new and exciting service. The team will be part of the wider ADRS and this is where management and supervision will be delivered from. The core team being recruited will also be supplemented by a bank of sessional staff to allow the fullest use of the mobile facility.
