Part time HCA required for approx. 2/3 sessions per week 09.00AM-16.40PM.Interviews will be held Monday 14th August and Monday 21st August.Start Date: 4th September 2023Health Care Assistant required to deliver NHS Health Checks in the community setting.Our Health Care Assistants are fully trained to assess cardiovascular risk by history taking alongside clinical measurements and feeding back results to individuals with appropriate lifestyle advice. Working alongside health and wellbeing advisors the service aims to reduce risk of cardiovascular disease.The service is delivered in various community venues across Manchester but transport from base is provided.Would suit qualified HCA or sixth former/Med student looking for experience in healthcare.Working under the direct supervision of the Manchester Health Care Team Lead and strictly in accordance with specific practice guidelines and protocols, the Healthcare Assistant will assist the clinical team in the provision and delivery of health checks in the community.Duties and Responsibilities:Undertake training to independently deliver an NHS health check following the specific guidelines of the national programme.Take a full medical history and measure clinical indicators including height, weight, blood pressure following specific protocols for when abnormal results are found.Take samples of blood via finger prick to check cholesterol levels and screen for diabetes.Work in collaboration with other team members to set up venues and liaise with other providers to ensure smooth running of the service.Applications and for further information, please contact:Michelle Kingsley - Manchester Health Care Team [email protected]: 07803151719Job Type: Part-timeSalary: £10.50 per hourSchedule:Monday to FridayWork Location: In person
