This is an exciting opportunity for a Band 3 Health Care Assistant to join our Dermatology Unit at University Hospital Monklands.
The successful candidate will be expected to work within a busy Dermatology Unit based at The University Hospital of Monklands, but within a pan Lanarkshire contract. The day to day duties include, outpatient clinics, day unit treatment, phototherapy, patch testing, long term chronic condition clinics and surgical sessions. In house training and national training programmes are in place for continued learning.
The Successful Candidate will carry out assigned duties to maintain hygiene, order and safety within the ward/department environment. Please note, duties may vary with the type of ward/department and the degree of patient dependency.
Knowledge, Training and/or Experience Required to do the Job:
- Knowledge of personal care and related procedures or previous volunteer or work experience in a health, education or social care environment
- The ability to work with people and as part of a Multidisciplinary Team
- Required to undertake Job Training and Induction
- Undertake mandatory HCSW standards
- Ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to carry out assigned tasks effectively in a busy environment
- Working knowledge of basic information technology
