Job description
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant (HCA) to join our healthcare team. As an HCA, you will play a critical role in supporting the physical and emotional well-being of our patients. You will work closely with other healthcare professionals, including doctors and nurses, to provide high-quality care to our patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing personal care and support to patients, including feeding, washing, dressing, and toileting. • Assisting with mobility and transfers, including the use of hoists and wheelchairs. • Monitoring patients' vital signs and reporting any changes to the nurse or doctor. • Helping to maintain a clean and safe environment for patients, including changing bed linen and disposing of waste. • Supporting patients' emotional well-being by providing companionship and conversation. • Assisting with basic medical procedures, such as taking blood pressure and administering medication. • Documenting patient care and reporting any concerns to the nurse or doctor. • Participating in team meetings and contributing to the development of care plans.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent. • Completion of an accredited HCA training program or relevant experience. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. • Compassionate and empathetic nature. • Ability to work in a team environment. • Basic medical knowledge and familiarity with medical terminology. • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information. • Physical fitness and ability to perform manual tasks. • Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Job Types: Temporary contract, Freelance, Part-time, Full-time
Part-time hours: 35-40 per week
Salary: £13.00-£18.00 per hour
