We are looking for three dedicated Health and Wellbeing Officers to join our team on a fixed-term basis, supporting the Winter Pressures single contact point that covers Derbyshire (excluding Derby City). These positions are available from 1st October 2023 to 31st March 2024. ❄️
About the Role
The Winter Pressures single contact point is a crucial service that involves reviewing requests and providing information, advice, and signposting for individuals facing financial and housing difficulties. This role also includes providing in-depth support to those who are extremely vulnerable and living in complex situations.
Your Responsibilities
As a Health and Wellbeing Officer, you will join our established health and wellbeing team and provide essential support to ensure the seamless delivery of the winter pressures service, while also maintaining our business-as-usual services.
Requirements
- Experience working with people in a person-centred and asset-based way.
- Ability to assist individuals with disabilities, mental health challenges, and their families/carers.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to listen, identify problems, and troubleshoot effectively.
- Practical experience in advocacy and supporting individuals in planning for the future.
- Creative thinking and the ability to work innovatively.
Essential Criteria
You must have previous experience in a similar role and meet the essential criteria outlined in the attached job & person profile and additional information. Flexibility is essential, as you may need to cover various parts of Derbyshire at short notice, including the possibility of evening or weekend working and participating in a rota. While the current role predominantly involves remote work, there is a requirement to travel to support individuals and attend meetings.
