Latham & Watkins, a law firm consistently ranked among the top firms in the world, is seeking a Graphic Design Lead, to join our expanding Brand and Communications Team in London. The Graphic Design Lead will incorporate Latham & Watkins' visual identity to create consistent designs that are used primarily for client focused external communication.

About the department
The Brand & Communications department has over 60 colleagues who support a plethora of activities across Latham & Watkins. We have 6 teams, including Public Relations, Internal Communications, Digital Media, Editorial Services, Video (content), and Creative Services.
The Graphic Design Lead sits within Creative Services, which is led by the Global Creative Director. The team acts as the steward of the firm’s visual identity. They work closely with colleagues within Brand & Communications as well as in adjacent departments—Business Development, Recruiting, Attorney Development, among others—by developing and maintaining a portfolio of designs, graphics, layouts, presentations, and publications across a variety of mediums, both digital and print. Creative Services also manages the firm's digital assets, including branding materials, logos, illustrations, templates, and stock photography.
About the role
As a Graphic Designer Lead you will apply core design principles to complex, strategic projects ensuring all work is aligned to Latham’s brand and brand guidelines. This role is equally comfortable with responsive design (websites, email, social media, video/motion graphics) as they are for print.
Other key responsibilities include:
- Leading multiple projects concurrently, delivering on time and maintaining a high standard for presentation, quality, and attention to detail
- Initiating project kickoffs, collecting and codifying critical details; creating informed, impactful solutions; and articulating how the work answers the needs of the internal business partner
- Advising internal clients and other teams on how to leverage the brand guidelines, contributing to the guidelines, and developing templates and new brand asset styles
- Shepherding the extension and buildout of high-quality image asset libraries that appear in brand guidelines, and, ultimately, all Latham communications
- Designing and presenting fresh concepts for digital and marketing materials, including microsites, web pages, social media, presentations, newsletters, brochures, etc
About you
We’d love to hear from you if you:
- Have strong presentational skills and an ability to articulate your design methodology to clients that are not from a creative background
- Exhibit knowledge of common design programs including Adobe Creative Cloud, Sketch, Invision, Figma, and PowerPoint
- Demonstrate expert typography (kerning, leading, tracking), hierarchy, color application, grids, layout, and accessibility skills
And have:
- A minimum of seven (5) years as a Senior Graphic Designer in a professional services professional services organization or agency
- Experience with Content Management and Digital Asset Management systems, as well as digital and social marketing, and web design
- A Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or an equivalent combination of training and experience
