About the role and our team
Join our team as a Health and Safety Inspector within the Department of Environment, Food & Agriculture!
The primary aim of the Health and Safety at Work Inspectorate (HSWI) is to contribute to the reduction of health and safety risks arising from work activities. This is achieved by HSWI inspectors promoting and securing compliance with occupational health and safety legislative standards through the provision of advice, education, inspections and investigations as well as through taking enforcement action.
You will be working as part of a small team of one Senior Inspector and two Inspectors, in partnership with Officers from other units within the Directorate, other Government Departments and key stakeholders.
We are looking for someone who has a wide range of experience in applying current safety legislation and standards, have the ability to work independently and have good negotiating skills when liaising with others to achieve effective outcomes.
We’re also looking for someone who has significant experience across a wide range of industrial, commercial and Government sectors as well as considerable experience in a Health and Safety role.

A full valid driving licence and access to your own vehicle is required for this role.
A relocation package and interview expenses are not available for this role.
