Job description
Head Teacher - All Saints Church of England Primary School Axminster
Salary: L 5 - 11
Deadline: Tuesday 9th May
Are you an experienced school leader ready for the next challenge? Would you like to work in a stunning village setting with exceptional children and great community support? Does working within an established and supportive Trust appeal to you? If so, read on.
All Saints Church of England Primary School is near the town of Axminster in the heart of the Devon countryside. It is part of St Christopher’s Multi Academy Trust, whose mission is to support each and every one of our communities to flourish.
Rightly, parents have high expectations of the school and their children, and attainment by the end of Year 6 is significantly above national benchmarks. They want their children to have an enriched and happy experience in their time in school. For the right candidate, there is a real opportunity to galvanise the whole community around the work of the school. An important aspect of this will be ensuring that pupil voice is central to the next phase of school development.
As Headteacher at ASPS Axminster, we offer:
· A great community of parents, children and staff working to ensure that pupils ‘Aspire, Achieve and Flourish’
· Articulate, well-behaved pupils who are always eager to learn and be stretched in their thinking.
· A comprehensive induction, working alongside Trust colleagues to ensure your first 100 days and beyond are as successful as possible.
· The chance to work within a very supportive Trust where School Improvement, Operations and Finance Teams ensure that you as a Headteacher can get on with the crucial work of leading the school and its community.
· The opportunity to work alongside other Trust Headteachers and our wider school improvement team.
· Access to a very broad range of CPD, including access to early headship support and supervision, along with a range of opportunities within the Trust and across the region.
We are looking for:
· An experienced Senior Leader or Headteacher who is excited by the prospect of leading a village school to a high level of performance – enriching the curriculum experience for each and every child in the school.
· An exceptional communicator – someone who can build strong relationships with staff, parents, children and the wider community.
· A leader who is energised and excited to work in a smaller setting with the unique challenges that can come with delivering a curriculum for mixed age classes.
· A leader who is able to leverage expertise and knowledge from across the Trust and contribute to its wider life and professional learning.
· A leader confident in supporting and developing the Anglican ethos of the school
· An inclusive leader who is reflective upon their own development and has a real commitment to professional learning.
If this resonates, then we really want to hear from you! We will be booking tours immediately after Easter and look forward to discussing the school with you. For an informal discussion, please contact our Director of School Improvement, Sean Millar at [email protected]
