Working within the People Department this exciting new role of Head of Volunteering will support the Director of People to design and implement the long-term strategic plans and priorities for volunteering across the organisation.
As the volunteering expert, you will provide inspirational leadership in volunteering across the hospice and to develop and deliver on the strategy whilst managing the volunteering function.
Working in partnership with senior leaders, particularly in fundraising, retail and operations, you will ensure that the skills and capacity of the volunteer teams meet current and emerging organisational needs and ensure that diversity and inclusion are central throughout the volunteer journey.
You will be responsible for setting and holding the standards of volunteering across Rainbows, being an advocate for best practice.
The successful candidate must have:
- Demonstrable experience in creating, implementing and embedding a volunteering strategy.
- Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of different types of volunteering (informal/formal) and effective ways to attract, recruit and engage both.
- Able to build rapport and relationships quickly with a range of stakeholders and holding individuals to account.
- Knowledge of volunteering good practice, relevant legislation and resources.
- Experience of working in volunteer management in a Hospice/Health and Social care sector is desirable
Loughborough is commutable from Leicester, Melton Mowbray, Coalville, Carlton, Long Eaton, Oadby and surrounding areas
This role will involve occasional evening and weekend working so flexibility is essential.
This role is based at the Hospice in Loughborough, but with travel across the region as required – hybrid working also available.
