The role of Head of Transformation is to lead the UK Wealth and Personal Banking Business to drive and embed a value stream-based approach to strategic change, as well as identifying and coordinating more tactical change initiatives. You will be responsible for strategic oversight and control, scoping and execution of change including Group programmes and strategic change, as well as streamlining initiatives, and embedding change through change and implementation.
You will responsibilities will include and are not limited to:
- Responsible for driving and embedding a value stream-based approach to change, adhering to HSBC frameworks.
- Ownership and management of the Wealth and Personal Banking Value Stream Investment Planning (VSIP) process.
- Reviewing all change to ensure alignment to strategic priorities and ensuring operational integrity of change (business architecture).
- Responsibility for Design Authority and ownership and management of the Wealth and Personal Banking runway in the UK, engaging with Wealth and Personal Banking UK ExCo-level business stakeholders and Group Wealth and Personal Banking Product stakeholders to prioritise investment decisions and secure investment allocation.
- Overseeing and coordinating all change activity to ensure appropriate governance, cost control, risk management and benefit realisation.
- Delivering both strategic and tactical (streamlining) change.
- Managing and running the investment approval process for Wealth and Personal Banking UK value streams, within the overall Wealth and Personal Banking VSIP approved by WPB Operating Committee, which includes pipeline planning, investment committee (up to $10m approval) and weekly approval process.
- Daily interaction with Group Wealth and Personal Banking and DBS and business stakeholders to achieve:
- Portfolio management to deliver the Value Stream Investment Plan throughout the year including annual process and quarterly reviews
- Running and chairing Wealth and Personal Banking forums
- Working to align business plans and FRP activity between Wealth and Personal Banking and its supporting functions.
The ideal candidate for this role will have the following skills/experience:
- Experience across Wealth and Personal Banking and/or Transformation
- Self-starter who is comfortable working with concepts, ambiguity and in turning high level principles into defined actions and setting strategic outlook in an ever changing environment.
- Champion of change and innovation, highly motivated and resilient, with proven expertise in managing complex change programmes.
- Builds sustainable relationships through strong interpersonal skills and proactive stakeholder management with the ability to communicate with impact, influence, engage and negotiate at all levels of the organisation and with external clients.
- Extensive knowledge of change delivery (in particular digital capabilities) using the value stream approach and Agile ways of working, approval/governance flows, processes and customer related strategies as well as business cases and benefit realisation.
- Experience in cross functional roles/matrix structure.
- People leadership, able to build and develop high performance teams.
- A sound understanding of financial budgets/statements/models, with experience of analysing data effectively for planning, forecasting and reporting.
- Excellent attention to detail combined with a strong delivery focus and ability to meet aggressive timeframes with quality results.
- Extensive experience of creating and deploying comprehensive business/operating plans which consistently deliver desired results.
- A comprehensive understanding of the regulatory framework and compliance requirements associated with financial services and experience of working within these.
