We are looking for an experienced and confident leader to join our college as Head of Student Wellbeing, Inclusion and Safeguarding; being responsible for leading a comprehensive range of student support services which include: Safeguarding; the Prevent Duty, Pastoral and Wellbeing Support and Counselling.


Being our ambassador for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI), you will be responsible for ensuring for a positive and inclusive culture that benefits everyone and maximises opportunity for all. This role will ensure highly effective synergy across our services, establishing a strong working partnership with curriculum staff, ensuring colleagues are well supported, but also appropriately challenged where necessary.

You will also support the Assistant Principal for Quality and Student Experience in shaping strategy and ensuring ongoing high-quality delivery and monitoring of our services, whilst also supporting rapid positive progress against the College’s key targets and strategic direction.


Who we are looking for:


  • An outstanding leader, who is well organised and can give leadership and direction by motivation.
  • Someone with the ability to persuade, influence, listen and foster effective partnerships with others.
  • A person with a confident approach to decision-making and a detailed understanding of the range of student wellbeing, safeguarding services and related activity.


What we are looking for:


  • Demonstrable experience of working in a regulated educational / training environment, preferably the FE sector with HE provision.
  • Experience in preparing professional reports to Governors, inspectors and external partners and stakeholders.
  • A relevant qualification at Level 5 or above or relevant industry experience, alongside Designated Safeguarding Lead training.
