Job description
We are seeking applicants for the role of Head of Steel Operations within our Groveport business. This is a new role responsible for ensuring that the steel operation transcends from a steel stock holding facility into a leading-edge steel logistics centre.
Location: Groveport, Scunthorpe
Working Arrangements: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week
The five main things our new Head of Steel Operations will be working on are:
- Providing effective leadership to the steel operations team, with a focus on embedding and developing the new management structure and fostering a safety-first culture.
- Using change management techniques to become a leading-edge steel logistics centre.
- Complete effective budgetary control linked to the strategic planning for the department.
- Lead and support the steel operation team to allow for efficient and flexible responses to customer demands.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities.
We are seeking someone who:
- Has experience of leading, developing and supporting people and knowledge of HR processes.
- Has demonstrable ability to develop and maintain financial plans and budgets.
- Has excellent working knowledge of single/multi-user warehousing operation, business development, transport, and supply chain dynamics.
- Has experience of change management processes and is qualified in (or willing to qualify in) six sigma.
- Has excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to establish credibility at Executive level.
