This is a 12 month fixed term role which may be considered as contract or secondment.
Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS trust is on a journey to build and commission a brand new hospital. Midland Metropolitan University Hospital will provide clinical teams with modern purpose-built facilities and be our single-site acute hospital. It will see the consolidation of acute emergency and inpatient services and bring together our two emergency departments to operate as one.
This role is a combination of operational senior management and MMUH programme management. In addition to the day to day management of the teams and departments, you will work with the teams on their service models, identifying areas for improvement where possible.
As a new role, the post holder will be the professional and expert operational lead for Soft FM Services across the trust with budget responsibility for the delivery of a safe, efficient and effective Soft FM service in a 24/7 environment which interfaces closely with client teams across the Trust to ensure that they are provided with appropriate support and advice relating to Catering, Ward Services and Linen and Portering and Security.
The post holder will be the lead for the Soft FM quadrant within the Clinical Support Services workstream working as part of the MMUH Programme Company. You will work within the delivery team to develop a combined facilities team which is ready to take handover of Midland Metropolitan and manage the set up and maintenance of the new facilities during our activation period, enabling the safe opening of our new flagship hospital.
We are looking for someone who has significant experience in a post as senior facilities manager within an NHS or other complex organisation and significant experience managing service change and reorganisation within an organisation educated to masters level or equivalent experience.
