Industrial Temporaries are working with their NHS client who are looking to add an experienced van driver to their team. This is a very important role as the driver will be delivering much needed medication directly to patients homes in and around Derbyshire so reliability and commitment must be 100 percent. This position is temp to perm and Monday to Friday with the shift hours of 12:30 – 21:00. The routes are pre planned. This position would suit a careful, conscientious driver with a responsible attitude and good attention to detail.
THE ROLE
Start at 12:30 and collect the delivery van from the client premises in Stretton, Burton upon Trent.
Drive to the Royal Derby Hospital and load with the deliveries for the day
Make the deliveries (between 5 – 20) to patient addresses in Derbyshire
Ensure all deliveries are scanned and signatures are obtained from recipients
Return the van to Stretton at the end of the shift
The hours of this position are 12:30 – 21:00 Monday to Friday.
The rate of pay is £11.40 per hour
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL
Have a valid Cat B licence with less than 6 points for minor motoring offences.
Hold or be willing to undertake an enhanced DBS check as the role is delivering directly to the end customer
Have good geographical knowledge of Derbyshire or up to date Sat Nav
Have good people skills and a patient, calm manner because a number of the customers may be vulnerable, elderly or unwell
Have a good level of written and spoken English
The successful candidate will spend the first full week out with another, experienced driver learning the processes and procedures of the job. After week 12 the contract becomes permanent.
