We’re looking for an exceptional strategic YouTube expert to help drive the future success of BBC Children’s and Education.
Main ResponsibilitiesThe Head of Social, BBC Children’s and Education will develop and deliver the strategy for a social portfolio across CBeebies, CBBC, BBC Bitesize, Newsround, BBC Food and BBC Teach. You’ll also lead on the organic social strategy for our priority brand and franchise campaigns, to ensure we grow our brand awareness with our hard-to-reach young audiences.
This role will set the standard for our social media activity; you will be helping our exceptional content and services reach more people on social platforms to increase time spent with the BBC. You will lead a team of social experts to deliver content and manage accounts across TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and Twitter, and you’ll be responsible for ensuring our editorial output is world-class and creatively excellent.
You will work collaboratively with teams across the BBC and with senior stakeholders to deliver a strategy that maximises pan-BBC opportunities for delivering increased value and impact. You will also be responsible for building relationships with relevant influencers and partners to increase the reach and engagement in our social activity.
Are you the right candidate?We are looking for a social expert and team leader who is determined to deliver results and is driven by finding impactful opportunities to grow the reach and engagement with the BBC and our core digital services.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in devising and delivering impactful social media strategies for major TV brands, channels or franchises. You will be an innovative, strategic thinking who is able to spot opportunities with emerging and existing platforms to deliver greater reach or engagement.
You will be a highly skilled communicator with exceptional stakeholder management skills, and you will have experience in working collaboratively with teams and platform partners to deliver success. You’ll be a strong and inspirational leader with excellent organisational and planning skills. You’ll be experienced at managing busy workloads amid conflicting priorities and tight deadlines, whilst remaining calm under pressure.
You’ll have excellent editorial judgement and a strong understanding of young audiences and their digital behaviours. will be knowledgeable about youth audiences and their digital behaviours and are passionate about delivering editorial excellence in everything you do.
