Here's a bit more detail on what we see you doing in this role:
- As Head of Security, you’ll have day to day oversight and responsibility for all security operations across both The Gleneagles Hotel and our Townhouse in Edinburgh, reporting directly to our Gleneagles General Manager
- Expertly guiding both teams to ensure the continuous safety and security of our people, guests and assets whilst supporting and motivating your team to maximise their performance and contribution
- As the first line of management response in dealing with any incidents and liaising with the emergency services, you’ll be supremely responsive, adeptly deploying our security resource as required
- You’ll be planning, preparing, testing, and implementing all Security and Fire Safety procedures for both properties, including all aspects of training and compliance
- Responsible for our Fire Risk Assessments, you’ll arrange and ensure all compliance actions are completed on behalf of our General Manager, liaising with the Fire Service Enforcement officers on inspection visits and making sure all compliance documentation is complete, accurate and in place
- Our point of contact with the Police, as required you'll assist with investigations, VIP movements and event planning; you’ll also maintain a close relationship with the local CTSA, you’ll proactively seek security advice in relation to changing legislation and ensure this is implemented into our policies and procedures
- You’ll create and implement a robust system to ensure all incidents are documented swiftly and accurately with your team crystal clear on taking forward any subsequent actions
- Actively leading the design and implementation of our Crisis Management Programme
- You’ll have full accountability for ensuring the working practices undertaken by both our own people and third parties are conducted safely, working closely with our Head of Risk to ensure all procedures meet and comply with the relevant legislative and regulatory standards
- Ensuring all SOPs and records are up to date, you’ll audit departmental practices and make sure that areas for development are communicated and executed as a means of continuous improvement
- Managing and maintaining our CCTV and access control systems, making sure the relevant policies and legislation are always adhered to and your team are also fully proficient and aware of their obligations
- Responsible for managing our extensive fleet of vehicles, overseeing the legal requirements for both vehicles and drivers, ensuring compliance with insurance and driving regulations
- Responsible for the budgets of both operations, you’ll ensure the best value and quality are achieved across every element of our Security operations
- Setting the tone and leading by example, you’ll develop a culture where your team feel valued and convey this warmth and thoughtfulness to their colleagues across the estate, and our guests, through the delivery of exceptional service
- Interacting with our guests, always warm, professional, helpful and doing everything you can to exceed their expectations, playing your part in making their stay with us luxurious in every way
