The School of Commercial Industries and Access currently includes students on 16-18 study programmes and T Levels, adult programmes including access and part time adult programmes, as well as a substantial HE provision.
We are now seeking a Head of Section – Business, Travel & Tourism and Esports.
The focus of the Head of Section is to ensure that current and future students receive a first-class experience that enables them to progress and attain their qualifications at high levels and to develop long-lasting learning and employability skills. Success is measured in terms of value added, meaningful progression in education and training and destination into higher education and/or employment.
You’ll become a member of the School Management Team and have collective responsibility for the implementation of the School Business and Improvement Plans, as well as contributing to College Objectives and Improvement Plans. This section has a diverse curriculum area with programmes including Business, Esports and Travel & Tourism. The teaching commitment is in the field of Travel & Tourism and Business.
We’re looking for someone who holds a degree or relevant professional qualification in an appropriate subject and who has excellent teaching skills, recognised as a good or better teacher on BTEC Travel & Tourism or Business programmes. We’d like you to have experience of leading in a BTEC Business/Travel & Tourism/Esports curriculum area and have a track record of making sustained improvements.
Hardworking and flexible, you will have current knowledge of impending curriculum changes and the implications for teaching and learning strategies. You will have a thorough understanding of quality assurance and improvement processes and how these can be used to enhance the student experience, and have experience of successfully monitoring and supporting ‘at-risk’ learners to achieve or exceed their potential.
