About the area you’ll be working in…
Reporting to the General Manager (UK, Egypt & Africa), you will be responsible for the profitable growth of the specific customer segment, defining the sales strategy and executing this strategy through proactive sales leadership and management.
What you'll be doing …
Leadership of sales team (circa 22 including the SME retention team and sales support); managing team performance and delivery
Driving a sales’ led approach to product, proposition & pricing
Ensuring team competence to operate in a regulated environment
P&L ownership for SME segment - UK (retention and new business)
Ownership of sales’ segment financial plan
Identify & drive initiatives to optimise portfolio performance, horizon scanning
Partner with Sales Directors to identify collaboration opportunities
Responsibility for service levels and supporting operational planning processes
Develop excellent relationships with senior stakeholders, regulators and customers
Contribute to Sales strategy and ensure best practice across the sales function, working closely with the Director of Sales Excellence
Who we’re looking for?
Sales background in the global insurance market (health or general insurance ideally)
Proven experience of leading a sales team in a corporate regulated environment
Excellent commercial acumen and sound knowledge of pricing / contract issues
Track record of achieving new business targets, driving growth in new markets
Insurance product knowledge is essential
Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders, regulators, brokers, customers
Sales discipline, rigour, drive and proactive mindset
