Non-disclosed London, United Kingdom Posted 3 days ago In-Office Permanent £100k - £120k A position has arisen in an activist fund for a Head of Sales buyside to join their established team. The successful candidate will be part of a young, international and highly entrepreneurial team of investment professionals with experience from the largest global financial institutions. The Ideal Candidate Entrepreneurial spirit This is a senior sales role, for someone with successful 10+ years experience in raising assets in the institutional space, with references from other asset management firms. Experience in and track record of breaking into new territories and building a brand, with the ability to tell a story the investment process. Willingness to reach out proactively to new prospects with an understanding of when to be strategic and when to be proactive. CFA or other professional designation preferred but not required. Passion for educating institutional prospects on activism & willingness to learn. Knowledge/understanding of ESG topics. Demonstrable ability to write, present and entertain prospects. Understanding of Activism, Hedge funds and ability to learn and discuss stock level stories and attribution with prospects. Responsibilities Include Operate across regions with a focus on US and Europe and coverage of Mid-East, Canada, Australia etc. Grow and develop your own network, with a focus on institutions (including pension funds, endowments), family offices, banks, consultants. Working with others internally to ensure the enhancement and maintenance of existing marketing materials, as well as involvement in quarterly review write-up. Ability to break into new territories, with cold calling/ emails, networking, participating in events. Ability to hold introductory meetings solo and get senior members of investment involved when appropriate to advance the sales process. You will be selling Long Only strategy, Long/ Short Cayman Fund, UCITS (low vol), which all invest in same 8-12 activist names and some non-activist value names. You will also from time to time be involved in raising assets for co-investments (public & private). All 4 opportunities invest in the same European mid cap universe. Ability and willingness to travel the globe to advance or begin the sales process wherever necessary. With time you will grow the team and have people reporting to you.
