As the senior member of the Revenue Management team, you will be responsible for effectively developing and managing a team of Revenue managers. Your team will be responsible for maximising revenue potential through the implementation, monitoring and application of corrective actions to multiple revenue management strategies devised to drive profitable through revenue optimisation. Your team will be working closely with our key internal stakeholders in commercial and cross functionally to ensure that our pricing strategies are aligned to ensure that we maximise value for each client. You will effectively present performance reviews to the senior management on a routine basis to ensure all areas of the business are aligned.
Role will have initially 2 direct reports: Senior Revenue Manager, Revenue Analyst
Reports to: SVP Network and Revenue Management
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Accountability on delivering budgeted network revenue targets
- Daily monitoring of sales trends.
- Competitor fare and capacity monitoring of activity and product initiatives and drives appropriate action in a timely manner.
- Explaining drivers of revenue performance and proposing actions to address shortfalls or conversely capture revenue opportunities.
- Monitors performance against key Revenue Management Metrics and targets.
- Owns the development and distribution of Norse Atlantic fare products (revenue and non-revenue) ensuring speed and accuracy of price products into market.
- Pricing strategies for individuals, groups and allotments.
- Ensure pricing strategy is aligned with bundle and ancillary strategy.
- Peaks, promotion and special event management and reporting.
- Short and long-term revenue forecasting.
- Responsible for delivering a weekly route level revenue forecast (1-4 month travel period focus) and managing performance drivers against that forecast.
- Reporting to update senior management on fare trends, effects of promotional activity and pricing strategy changes.
- Play leading role in the setting the setting route level revenue targets/budgets as required.
- Coordination of activities with other commercial departments (network and scheduling, sales, marketing and communications).
- Developing reports, analytical tools and business intelligence based on the data warehouse and other sources of information.
- Formulating recommendations on capacity allocation and other commercial levers to improve profitability.
- Revenue Management systems advanced user and act as a reference point for training and working with third party for updates and defining business requirements.
- Assist in planned disruption management, coordination, and processing.
- Revenue Management process development and management with all required stakeholders to support the team responsibilities and deliverables.
- Provides effective people management to develop team capability, direct performance towards organisational goals, ensuring the standards of all colleagues meet the requirements of the organisation and ensure adequate training programmes are in place as appropriate for each area.
- Act as the revenue management point of reference and attend key industry events.
- Mentors and drives the team of revenue managers, providing guidance, adopting revenue management best practices and opportunities to ensure all team members are continuously learning and developing to reach their potential.
Relevant skills and experience
- Understands the commercial dynamics of the airline industry.
- Track record of delivery on multiple fronts in a fast-moving business.
- Commercial acumen – able to spot and interpret market trends.
- Excellent leadership capability and team player, with the ability to build, and contribute to, high performing teams and engendering genuine culture change.
- Excellent influencing capability in driving key decisions through to successful conclusions.
- Experience working with external partners including software supplier.
- Experience in Navitaire PSS highly desirable.
- Experience in AirRM an advantage.
- Experience with fare filing, familiarity with APTCO, GDS and NDC - or similar.
- LCC and/or Transatlantic Revenue Management experience desirable.
