Sandoz has a growing pipeline of medical device and drug/device combination projects. To meet our ambitious future portfolio needs, we are seeking an experienced Head of Project Management, for Medical Devices and Combination Products to manage a range of internal and external projects from initial concept development through to commercialisation. The role will be based at the Sandoz Device Development Centre in Cambridge
By successfully leading and managing the development of medical devices and combination products, you will help to launch commercially competitive products that will impact the development and commercialization of life changing medicinal products, thereby increasing access for our patients.
Key Accountabilities:
- Lead and manage a team of medical device/combination product project managers
- Define and develop the strategic direction of the group and drive operational excellence in line with Sandoz Global Development vision and strategy
- Develop and monitor resource plans and budgets across small molecule and biosimilars projects, both internal and partnered external programs
- Provide scientific/technical expertise, leadership, and direction to address complex R&D topics
- Build, manage, and maintain professional relationships with external suppliers and stakeholders
- Ensure the effective use of resources within the team to deliver on company objectives in line with project plans and timelines

Minimum requirements
- Masters, PhD, or university degree in the field of engineering, life sciences, or other relevant subject
- Proven track record (10+ years) in project management of medical devices and /or combination products within a pharmaceutical, medical devices, and/or combination products setting with significant cross-functional team management responsibilities
- Extensive technical knowledge of medical device technology and drug-device combination products
- Strong leadership skills and proven track record in leading a group of experienced project managers within a matrix structure
- Broad based understanding of medical device technology including design verification, component manufacturing technology, assembly, commercialization of devices
- Design/development/scale up experience across a range of medical devices and/or combination products
- Experience of working within the ISO13485 medical devices quality framework and in depth knowledge of GMP, EU, and FDA regulatory requirements
- Knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and resource management
- Results orientated, enthusiastic, and driven by excellence
- Excellent command of English (verbal and written)
