About this role:
The Head of Project Management is accountable for providing leadership to Project and Programme Management team in delivering commercial and business priorities. This involves focus on partnership working relating creation of project plans, overseeing changes in project scope and ensuring processes to capture and mitigate issues and risks that affect the project.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership for project management function including project plans and structure
- Accountable for the monitoring and achievement of operational and/or financial results for area of responsibility
- Responsible for staffing decisions and development through the employment lifecycle
- Accountable for all project management and performance metrics (safety, quality, cost, people and delivery)
- Engagement with other functions and disciplines to ensure project plans are holistic and realistic.
- Deliver the project plan for the lifecycle to budget
- Able to interpret and negotiate customer requirements while engaging with Engineering and Production teams to maximise standardisation and design reuse
- Define and implement project review gated processes
Skills required:
- Relevant Degree or equivalent work experience
- Demonstrates high levels of competence and track record in Project Management Office
- Demonstrates strong evidence of people leadership and project managing multi-disciplinary engineering teams in a high technology development environment
- Experienced in influencing both customers and stakeholders to drive effective decision making
- Experienced in KPI Setting, delivery and management
- Evidences standard and efficient project processes and/or improvement projects
- Exceptional communication and organisational skills
- Has strategic thinking and direction for functional area
- Demonstrates Financial and commercial acumen with attention to detail
- Ability to meet strict deadlines under fast paced and dynamic environment
Skills desired:
- Able to understand and interpret the Customer Contract
- Understanding of space preferred, or highly accredited sector such as Defence/Aerospace
