Job description

Senior Product Managers are responsible for product management across a whole CTI Service Area. Senior Product Managers are managers of managers, of a team of Product Managers and Product Analysts. In addition to general management responsibilities, they are responsible for championing the development of products and services across the Service Area; understanding the TCO and setting rates to fully recover costs; coordinating vendor deals; and managing customer communications.

Product Managers are responsible for defining the product capability roadmap, product marketing, product pricing, and request process on a global scale. Collaborating with team members, they take products and new features from beginning to end, in line with our product governance, inception and improvement processes. They deploy new products, maintain and enhance existing products, drive awareness and usage, and measure the product performance ensuring positive user experiences. They will be the business owner for vendor deals associated with your product, ensuring we purchase with the optimal price and features.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of product managers, champion the product management function and drive the successful evolution of a portfolio of products and services
  • Drive the product inception process for new products, services and upgrades by preparing the business case feasibility study, collaborating with the Product Marketing team to develop the communication strategy and roll-out approach, detailing the product offering, and preparing the product financials, vendor deals and rate card
  • Benchmark new product opportunities across metrics such as cost, quality, capability etc. and enable product adoption mechanisms by checking for market-competitiveness, standardization potential, supportability and scalability and turn-around times
  • Act as business owner for key vendor deals for hardware or software associated with your product/service, ensuring Citi purchases the appropriate global and regional services at the right price.
  • Develop Product Roadmaps that are endorsed by key partners
  • Create enhancement opportunities by reviewing existing metrics, analyzing trends and performance dashboards; strive for continuous improvement in product service level targets and offerings
  • Providing automated product placement & provisioning. This will enable Existing end users to request the service promptly and easily and also allow for New Hires to have the service from their start date
  • Drive increase in product adoption by reviewing adoption rates and taking remedial action in cases of low or below target adoption agreed by key partners and then actively track and monitor performance against these targets
  • Track the delivery of strategic global and regional product programs and decommissioning of non-strategic products and conduct annual product assessments with all parties/teams involved in the product lifecycle

Stakeholder Management and People Responsibilities

  • Act as a manager of managers, leading a team of product managers and product analysts supporting the products and services
  • Develop relationships with key customers and premier support functions to gather feedback, understand their use cases and support service/product roadmap
  • Collaborate effectively with service engineering and operations leads to ensure alignment
  • Act as a liaison between various technology groups, project teams, marketing, legal, compliance, procurement, request management, finance and the business providing direction and support on product inception and adoption
  • Actively contribute towards self-development by creating and following development plans based on discussions with management
  • Provide role clarity and set clear performance expectations that measure success, engaging team members with the priorities for the function and acting as the technical point of contact for new products and technologies

  • Technical Knowledge: Has a recognizable area of technical competence. Familiar with appropriate standards. Applies subject domain knowledge to meet organizational need/guide actions. Keeps up with current and possible future technological developments in the field.
  • Customer and Industry Knowledge: Constantly surveying what's around you - CTI, Citi, industry, customers and competitors. Uses this knowledge to guide actions.
  • Contract Negotiations: Ensures vendor understands & meets Citi’s requirements and that those requirements are captured and contractually fulfilled.
  • Commercial and Financial Acumen: Understands how CTI contributes to the wider Citi organization. Finds the balance between short-term financial gains and strategic intent. Financial knowledge to deliver TCO analysis and detailed business case for vendor deals
  • Processes/Procedures: Considers the whole system - reviews the data (qualitative and quantitative information), and identifies activities, applies validated methodologies for business process improvement, and designs processes and procedures that allow leading from a distance.
  • Personal Agility / Continuous Improvement: Seamlessly adapts style to fit the specific needs of the situation / circumstances to ensure effectiveness of the interaction. Establishes rapport, even when facing difficult or tense situation. Engages input from others constantly and listens with compassion and concern.

  • You're a self-starter with good problem solving skills, and you continuously look for ways to improve things.
  • You understand the importance of prioritization of your work.
  • Providing a great experience to the users of your product is important to you.
  • You have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience; Project and Product Management experience gained from a large, global technology or financial institutions organization.
