Your role at a glance

Would you like to work for the number one provider of Individual Protection products, in a brand-new role that manages all new business bids?

If you have an impressive knowledge of the Induvial Protection market, and extensive experience of managing new business bid and proposals, then this is a fantastic opportunity to join our Retail division as a New Business Senior Bid Manager.

In this exciting role you’ll be working in the new income streams team for L&G Retail who are responsible for winning new partners and assisting the business with retaining existing partners. It’s a varied role where your key responsibilities will be; end to end bid management including pitch material, win strategy development and opportunity assessment, and delivery and execution support of new partner implementations.

You’ll manage all new business bid processes, whilst working very closely with the business development leads to ensure L&G's success. The role will pay attention to retail protection new business opportunities, and likely to include other product lines within retails, which include, mortgage services, retirement income, and Home Finance.

What you'll be doing
  • Assess new opportunities for distribution partnerships across the L&G Retail Distribution product suite, ensuring that opportunities meet L&G’s profit, volume, and embedded value targets. In addition to identifying the level of investment required to secure the bid.
  • Manage bid preparation by working with SME’s from all levels to develop compelling win strategies for upcoming tender and new business opportunities to improve chances of success
  • Develop and own the new business tender/ bid management sign off process, to ensure all content is compliant, in line with regulation, as well as senior leader direction.
  • Manage and prioritise effectively, all new business tender and bid activity. Ensuring quality and timely production of all submissions of RFP’s, RFI’s, tender presentations and other required documentation.
  • Working as part of the implementation team, to ensure all new partner implementations follow the appropriate PLM and internal governance processes, managing internal and external stakeholders effectively whilst driving and ensuring successful outcomes.
  • Manage, motivate and develop employees at all levels, in a manner that is consistent with the company's policies and procedures including the Partnership Agreement, to maximise the performance of the area.
  • Develop and communicate a distribution strategy for products / propositions that is appropriate for the target market and incorporates a consideration for vulnerable customers present within the target market.
What we're looking for

To be successful in this role you’ll need to be a pro-active and tenacious person, that is motivated and passionate about the Protection market. You’ll be working with a variety of different Junior and Senior stakeholders so being confident, adaptable, and having a high level of communication skill is keys.

Here’s some of the experience that we’d love to see:

  • An experienced business development and/ or marketing professional, with expertise in the insurance and mortgage proposition development, business development, project management and completion of tender responses.
  • Strong experience of managing new business bid and proposals, ideally within the Protection market, with Mortgage or Surveying market knowledge desired.
  • Excellent understanding of the Banks, Building Society and Affinity market, including the role of Aggregator led distribution.
  • An understanding of the key drivers and make-up of the Insurance and Mortgage market.
