Job description
Based in the trendy borough of Shoreditch, with the flexibility to work part remote, Hiyacar is a heavily funded start-up tech company with a few years under our belts. We have over 100 angel and VC investors from the UK to Japan, who have invested more than £15m into our company. Our products and services include a p2p car sharing platform and Hiyacar’s purpose is to connect drivers to a car when and where they want one. Our cities are full of underused cars, so we must be smarter about mobility. Cars depreciate and lose money--they are liabilities not assets. Our tech platform transforms cars into assets that keep communities moving.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Head of Management Accounting & Data to join our team. The Head of Management Accounting & Data will be responsible for managing the company's financial planning, analysis, and reporting activities. If you have both Looker and SQL knowledge, get to the front of the line... In a Hiyacar of course.
Although initially no direct reports, you should also have excellent leadership and communication skills to manage and mentor your future team of accounting and data professionals. Although a few years in now, we are still in start-up mode, so we need people who roll their sleeves up and get stuck in. The finance team will consist of our Head of Financial Accounting & Compliance, an Accounts Assistant and this vacancy, the Head of Management Accounting & Data.
This is a young, ambitious, and growing company, so this is a great opportunity to come in and lead the way forward.

- Work with the Head of Financial Accounting & Compliance to develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information.

- Provide financial guidance and support to other departments, including Sales, Marketing, and Operations.
- Create financial models and forecasts to assist with business planning and decision-making.
- Monitor and analyze financial and operational performance, identifying trends and providing recommendations for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable accounting standards and regulations.
- Manage the company's budgeting process, including setting budgets and monitoring actual performance against budgets.
What are we looking for?
We need a someone with a strong data, analytical and IT background. We are looking for someone who is either ACA, CIMA or ACCA qualified or a finalist, however, would not rule out an excellent part qualified candidate.

Please apply to this vacancy by sending your CV and a cover letter with a bit about you and why you think you should be our very first Head of Management Accounting & Data, what you would bring to the company and anything else you would like us to know. We aren't going to make you jump through hoops by copying and pasting the CV you worked on for months into our own template, simply attaching your CV and cover will do, but we may not consider your application if you do not accompany your CV with the requested cover letter.
