In your role as the Head of People/HR, you will develop and implement human resources capabilities, including compliance, recruitment, performance, and culture. Envelop Risk is a rapidly growing underwriting agency combining world leaders in (re)insurance underwriting and artificial intelligence-based risk modelling. The firm underwrites cyber reinsurance contracts and is building cyber insurance products that will be distributed globally. Envelop is seeking technical staff for our global technology hub in central Bristol.

Working with the CEO, COO, CLO, Finance lead and other leaders of Envelop to plan for, deliver and maintain the talent required to deliver the business plan internationally. Identifying
and working with selected third party vendors as necessary as well as providing generalist people services to Envelop Risk staff in the UK and worldwide.
Reporting to the CEO, you will be responsible for developing and overseeing the People strategy, ensuring it is aligned to the company objectives. You will create a framework to attract
and develop talent within the organisation, defining and embedding the company values as well as the employer brand. Working for this fast-growing, complex organisation, you will need to
translate the global vision in to meaningful local context for its international teams and develop relationships with various teams from different cultures.
As a member of the senior leadership you will be contributing to the business at a strategic level whilst playing a hands on role in the delivery of those initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a People/HR strategy that aligns with our culture and ensures our strategic objectives.
- Oversee recruitment practices, ensuring legal compliance and a positive candidate/ employee onboarding experience.
- Design, deploy, and manage recruitment processes to attract exceptional talent.
- Ensure the company's values and approach strengthen the organisational culture.
- Develop a competitive offering in the market place for our talent and guide our total reward approach and content. Ensure salaries and benefits are competitive, and we have robust internal governance.
- Monitor, track & increase levels of engagement and staff satisfaction levels to increase employee retention.
- Ensure appropriate HR policy, process, and governance exist to ensure legal compliance.
- Provide human resources support and consultation across the business.
- Reporting & Analysis – provide a continual flow of data and reports for senior management relating to everything people related.
- Develop and support managers in all people practices, coaching them on any employee relations/ performance management issues that may arise.
- Shape and oversee an L&D approach that enhances skill set and knowledge and motivates the team.
- Manage the relationship with our benefit providers and other third-party vendors.
- Be a trusted advisor to the CEO and Exec team. Coaching and developing this team toward high performance.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
- Significant experience of working with, coaching and supporting an international management team.
- CIPD qualification preferred.
- Experience gained within a similar level HR Manager or Head of People & Culture role.
- Background working in Re/Insurance would be beneficial.
- Experience with a wide range of People & HR policies.
- Excellent HR knowledge with strong UK Legislation knowledge.
- Confident with a strength of character and excellent communication skills, able to build critical relationships internally and be that positive and proactive face of HR & People.
- Excellent commercial understanding, being aware of the commercial impact of your role and the difference that influential people strategies can bring to an organisation.
- Strong financial awareness.
- Ability to work to deadlines and work within a very fluid culture, where change because of continued growth is prominent.
- A technologist, competent in using a range of online collaboration tools as well as MS Office and similar.
